Ju-Jitsu is known as the (Mother of Martial Arts) which many other styles have been influenced  like Aikido & certain

styles of Karate, Judo and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu made into a sport.

Ju-Jitsu is a self-defence that covers all areas and shows many escapes from holds, and how to apply restraint techniques, defending attacks from standing and on the ground.  The techniques used are joint manipulations like wrist locks and arm locks etc, throws and sweeps, pressure points, blocks, deflections, striking skills, and Ground-Fighting skills where 95% of all fights end up on the ground.

Ju-Jitsu deals with attacks with & without weapons. The unique thing about Ju-Jitsu that's different to many other Martial Arts, is that Ju-Jitsu can be used effectively to restrain someone without the use of any strikes.

Ju-Jitsu is widely used in the world by the Police, Security, Door Supervisors, Body Guards and the Military.

Ju-Jitsu is used and mixed into many modern day Martial Arts because of it's effectiveness.

Ju-Jitsu means

(The Gentle Way)

Meaning you can use your opponent’s strength against them.

Brazilian jiu-jitsu a self-defence martial art and combat sport based on grappling, ground fighting and submission holds. BJJ focuses on the skill of taking an opponent to the ground, controlling one's opponent, gaining a dominant position, and using a number of techniques to force them into submission via joint locks or chokeholds.

Learning Brazilian Jiu Jitsu requires you to execute techniques that contain many small details.  Learning  to perform these techniques develops the fine motor skills and gives students a good understanding of base and balance.

These skills then spill over to other sports and activities in their lives and aids in making them more successful not just in Jiu Jitsu but in everyday life.

BJJ will give you or your child a REAL means of self-defence.  Bullying is on the rise and a real concern in all schools.  Jiu Jitsu will give you more confidence and that is the #1 bully deterent.  Bullies don't want to pick on confident (children), they want easy prey.  But besides being confident, students will have the tools to physically defend themselves through hours on the mats spent training real situations and how to deal with them using BJJ.

In Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes students will meet many new friends and share common experiences like drilling techniques, playing games, and live rolling.

Family (MMA) Mixed Martial Arts is a combination of grappling arts like Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, Judo, Wrestling and stand-up arts like Muay Thai, Kickboxing, and Karate.

For self-defence skills MMA is one of the best things you can learn.  The combination of stand-up and ground fighting prepares the student for a real fight better than anything else.

Children don’t have to compete in MMA while learning it.

Brazilian Jiujitsu and Grappling competitions are held regularly and allow you to compete safely.

The important thing is that you or your child are comfortable and that you are training in a safe environment under quality instructors.

A compromise is to teach MMA techniques and let you or your kids practice it, but not fight competitively and its not forced upon you to do so.

When the student turns 18, they can make their own decision.
